Another farmhouse bed

While they were doing this,

 I was building this.

Of course, William thought it was for him...

But, it wasn't quite his size.

I painted it white during his nap time and, under the direction of my daughter's aesthetic, sewed some pillows and a quilt for its future occupant. Can you believe this beautiful doll bed was made with 100% scraps and I didn't have to buy a single thing to make it? I love Ana's plans.

I came across your blog while searching for thise that have made Ana's doll bed...I love it!! How did you do your mattress? We've built our bed but now I need to make the bedding...I'm not a seamstress!

Hi Jody,

For the mattress, it's super easy! I just purchased some foam padding from my local craft store and cut it to size. (The best way to cut foam is to use an electric turkey knife but a saw or very sharp serrated kitchen knife will work as well.)

After you're happy with the mattress size, if you don't sew, you could simply stretch fabric across it, folding in the corners and either taping it closed like wrapping a package, or sew by hand so it stays in place. I suppose you could trying staling it, but I wouldn't feel comfortable with that with my daughter.

Good luck and thanks for stopping by!

Thank you! I found a tutorial on another blog as well. I'm going with a 2" foam and making a fitted sheet. Well, my mom is going to make the sheet for me :) I Love the way your bed turned out. Can't wait to give my daughter hers,on her birthday! Thanks again!
